"We mentioned his depth of spirituality, how much he loves his fellow brethren... he's incredibly compassionate and gracious. I don't think the word 'profound' is too great a word to use. Gravitas, a man of great gravitas. Commands the room."
My name is Matthew and I am the pastor of Saint Paul United Methodist Church in Searcy, AR.
I haven't been blogging here much in the last couple of years. Recently, if I have an idea for a post, I ask the good folks over at Seedbed if they're interested. Check them out. They are awesome. I may pick back up here though, primarily on themes of holiness.
Here are a couple of things I've written for them:
I have been a United Methodist pastor for fourteen years. I graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2003, was ordained an elder in the United Methodist Church in 2007, and have served my current church since July 2014. I also recently graduated (again) from Asbury Theological Seminary with a Doctor of Ministry. My project was on Reintroducing the Doctrine and Experience of Christian Perfection to United Methodists.
I have been married to my wife for 16 years and we have one incredibly awesome daughter.
When I'm not reading, researching, or writing, I'm running, biking, or just hanging with my family.
If you're interested in me speaking at a revival service or anything else not on a Sunday morning, fill in your information below and someone will get back to you promptly. I'm also available to do preaching and teaching on Christian perfection (entire sanctification) if you would like to do a two day workshop or retreat.
